We just last year finished my sewing room upstairs and choose the laminate for the floor. Got it from Costco and installed {hubby and me} ourselves, the boards interlocked together. It looks so great and am so glad I choose it over the vinyl we were considering. But I did get one of those vinyl mats that they use for offices and put it under my sewing chair with the wheels on it to protect the floor.
