my vote is 2 batiks paired with plain black cotton fabric. Black batiks are not easy to come by and even more difficult to match in color. Black is not always black, dye runs create a wide variety of shades.
The choices are:
* 2 different colors per block
* 1 batik paired with solid black
* 1 batik paired with solid white
So, either 2 different batiks per block or 1 batik with solid black. Let me know!
