I usually do hand piecing, but on the quilt I am working on now, I do not have the time to do that, so I machine appliqued using invisible thread. I have regular thread in my bobbin. I found that when I had the invisible thread in my bobbin (using Sulky thread), it got horribly tangled up. After I switched to the regular thread in the bobbin, it moved along quite well, and you can't see the stitching. This is not something I am ever likely to do again, but it did save me from switching thread colors on each block.
