Thanks for this idea RugosaB, I'm going to try this last ditch effort on my youngest Boxer, he has a thing for shoes I have even made a paste with Cayenne Pepper & spread it on Crocs it didn't faze him!!
I should add:
If you try this make sure you wash your hands really really well because even the slightest smell of the Vicks is enough to make him avoid you and dislike you because of the way you smell.
