FYI - I would set it in a sunny window to warm up all that old oil. I bought an old treadle and couldn't budge the moving parts. I put it 'out of the way' in front of a kitchen window and "Viola". I tried it a few days later and could move everthing by hand. What a surprise.

That's a great idea, unfortuneately I live in an old farm house that rarely gets above 65 degrees even in the summer (the windows are the fancy double pane jobbers that don't let a lot of heat in). Maybe a hair dryer? I can still move all the parts by hand, so it's not that bad. It's very hard waiting to sew on her, the itch is sew bad
