You were lucky. Couple yrs ago when I saw a FW with table for sale we answered the ad -got no reply tried again after making arrangements for friend to pick it up over three hours from us. Still no answer and the price kept going down ---kept writing them. I told them I was willing to pay original price but never heard from them at all. Weeks later ad was gone and never heard any more. so I didn't think it was a scam just old people who didn't know how to reply.
I've had that sort of thing happen too. I've also posted things for sale, had someone contact me, I promptly reply, then they seem to fall off the face of the Earth. Even a polite follow-up get only a vast amount of nothin'. I'm pretty sure they just loose interest and feel awkward about telling you they don't want your stuff anymore. Personally, I wouldn't have any hard feelings, it'd just be nice to know they've moved on with things so I can focus on other buyers.
