I am with you on those Harbor Freight blades. The first one I used did not work well and I had to recut with my scissors. Tried the second one and it didn't work any better. So you do get what you pay for. Might work fine on carpet but on cotton material it was a dud.

I have all my old blades in a plastic olfa container clearly marked "used". I'm saving them for cutting freezer or other paper and then I'm hoping to either trade them in or get them sharpened, I just hate to waste anything :wink: If all else fails, I'll throw them our in that container taped shut.

I LOVE these blades. I thought my quilting class instructor would faint when I told her I was using them! She asked each one of us what brand of cutter and blade we were using, then said that you should use only the brand of blade for the brand of rotary cutter you had. I don't care what anybody else tells me, I'll use them because they do the job for me!

I put light weight cardboard around the old ones, then tape shut with duct tape. Well do not have garbage pick so don't want DH to cut himself..... HF makes their own blades and some are not the best of quality. I just bot a bunch on sale but haven't used them yet... If they aren't good, I'll use them with my June Taylor strip cutter. It seems to EAT my blades...

I have purchased blades from HF and had only 1 (the first one) that seemed to have some sort of nick in it. I have probably changed blades now about 6 times and have not had a problem with any of the rest. (I bought 12 pkgs). Try another blade.

I was planning on stopping at HF tomorrow since it is only 2 blocks from where I am going for lunch. Now I'm not as excited because of some of the bad reviews. I have an olfa cutter. I hope these blades work for me.

I agree with you also. I bought alot of packages of the HF blades and don't like the way the cut either. They also get dull really quick. I'm going back to my other olfa blades and just pay the price for nice cuts. Blessings, Georgia

If you don't live near HF - order on line. Even with postage it's still cheaper than other kind. And, if they are out of stock they will hold your order open until they do get stock. It took me approx. 3 months to get my order. Well worth it. Don't mind giving them to friends when loaning out my rotary cutters. But NOW I have an Accuquilt Go! and don't use them nearly as much.
