I'm so glad that your situation will be resolved - and I love your quilt top!

You are paying her for a service. If you were having remodeling work done in your house, wouldn't you like to know when they will start and the approximate date it will be done? You do not have a friendship relationship with this LA quilter, why tip-toe around her?

Always negotiate a due date when you contract with the LA quilter. We do that with everything else we buy, so why not this?

I'd say call. You are paying her and have the right to call. Seems like she mislead you in the first place. If you can't get a time frame and if you do and it is not in your time frame, pull your quilt and go someplace else.

I'm glad the timeline has been defined.

I don't know, maybe I'm a bit weird lol. I do LA quilting. I don't like to have a pile of quilts stacked up in my studio. I don't have move than 3 quilts here at a time. I feel like the quilts should stay with the owner until I can get to them lol. I give the customer a time frame of 2 weeks but might have it done in three days. I like to say two week in case anything comes up and I don't like to rush. I usually start the quilts right away, just in case.

I never do rush jobs, too much stress and things can go wrong. I play music and quilt to it so it is an enjoyable experience for me.

I would definitely call her and inquire as to why it is not finished yet. I don't think that is offensive. You are paying for her services and if she has had it since Feb. then she has had enough time to finish it.

Just wanted to say that I am happy you will be getting your quilt on time and that your quilt is beautiful -- love it!

As a general rule for everyone who sends quilts to LAQers it is a good idea to set a deadline date for finishing. Your quilt will end up on the bottom of the pile with out a date and it can happen several times before they get to it in some spare time, cause time is money. (Not all LAQS, but enough to make it worth having a deadline)

    It is a good lesson.
