Krystyna, I know you won't be "kicking back" and enjoying your retirement, you have way too much going on in your life, but when I saw this, I thought of you. I wonder why?

Oh.....applique, I love applique!!! My thumb complains when I do needle-turn work, so I mostly use my machine to stitch everything. Except bindings, I love to hand sew bindings.
I have material and pattern chosen for this month's quilt. I plan to start on it the first of the week. It should have some "sparkle" in it!

Nice to see you posting, BertiD! I want to get started on my DQ this weekend. I have some ideas, do you like "crazy"? I love it, and since a portrait of myself or where I live (literally) would be pretty crazy. Or I can do the larger picture of where i live and it would not be so much. LOL

Finally think I have an idea for my swap partner. I'll be going with the "Where I Live" theme. Have the idea in my head need to put pen to paper for calculations.

Onalee, you are one sweet lady. Hey, why not "borrow" one of those buses and we'll trick it out and go on a quilting road trip to visit everyone here! BUT ... I'm bringing my flying monkeys because they can't be trusted at home alone! Thanks for your compliment on the quilting. There's nothing to learn. Just do it!

Luvstoquilt, you're doing a traditional one, aren't you? So ... there's the Illinois Road Block or Illinois State Block or the Illinois Star OR ... there's always the Rose of Sharon (which I wouldn't try on a bet)

Mamaskeeto - calculations? Yikes! That's scary.

Hubby is working overtime AGAIN tonight so lots of stitching time. Made a quick run to Joann armed with his Marine Corps discharge papers and some other coupons and got some basics for a project I'm working on. It'll be noisy so I'm glad he'll be out and not complaining about the racket.

Noisy? Quilt with real firecrackers? Shooting off from the sewing machine? Poor poor puppies.
