Regarding my own journey, which this year is very abandoned...
The BBQA by Leah Day has totally taken my time, but I'm learning a lot and was what made me need to be able to someday make the quilting of my Dear Jane!
I show them an outline of the project so that they can see how I'm taking!
And I tell you ... I did... to put all my blocks together!
Yes! I am happy! I love seeing them all together!
In addition, just now, I took real awareness of the size of this project: is huge! Hahaha!
Two photos show them of how I'm presenting them on a big fabric. I proceeded to change some blocks in place, I will continue doing this weekend, to achieve a better distribution of both color!
I do not think that Jane be offended by that! You are saying in this regard?
I hope to return soon to sew these blocks, since I miss them a lot!
I leave you a huge hug and a kiss to each!

    Hello everyone ... just joining!!

I've finally finished the planning stage of my DJ. I wanted something different, and larger. I also wanted the blocks planned out so that they matched (more or less) in both color and composition (both by shape and amount of "color" vs background). Yes. I'm an "over-planner". I over-plan going to bed!!

So first I designed the layout. I wanted a King size and I also wanted some "negative space". So I set the blocks on point in a center medallion with star-bursts and a border. Once I had the layout I placed the blocks, then colored them. I'm using the same color as a background in the blocks, in the sashing, in the "negative space" and in the final border of triangles (which I was unable to color in DJ so just imagine they are grey <g>).

    Below is the end result.

Now I can finally get to work!!!

The project is called Building Blocks Quilt Along and can find all the information in the blog of Ms. Leah Day called The Free Motion Quilting (http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/), and She has a special page dedicated to the BBQA (http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.c...blog-page.html).
If you need any further clarification, I am at your service!
    A big hug!

Lovely blocks - as always Gladys -- it has been VERY quiet here - where are you all?
WELL - my pieced and sashed Dear Jane quilt has - today - left my house to go to be layered and quilted by a friend who has a long arm quilting machine and a business. It is the first time she hasn't been under my roof since I started her in May 2007 and I do hope she isn't lonely !!! LOL.

Dotty - you are right....sooo very quiet!! I'm trying to once again gain steam with sweet Jane!! At this time I have 8 triangles, one square and two kites remaining. I've misplaced the computer camera link so I haven't been able to post new ones. I'm going to try to post my design wall... not really sure how you created the link in your signature??
