Don't forget to look for CB fabric at JoAnn's I have found it several times. One was on a nice deep red and had the characters working on raking leaves, kicking the football and of course Snoopy to his snoopy best to entertain. Often what I find is seasonal oriented and I find it in the discount area. Worth a look if you have a JoAnn's close by.

Well, I thought my co-worker's new baby theme was going to be Winnie the Pooh but I was wrong. They are going with a Charlie Brown theme. Has anyone made a Charlie Brown quilt that I can see. I've search the web under images but nothing has really stood out to me yet. I'm thinking I would like to incorporate a yellow zigzag like the stripe on Charlie's shirt. Maybe as the border...not sure yet. I need inspiration.
My neighbor found 2 pleated drapery panels in a '70s VERY LARGE Charlie Brown print (browns, golds, oranges)...and asked me to make two twin quilts from the panels.......open weave drapery fabric so no cutting......I found some luscious batiks and added 4 borders in browns and oranges.......and then did an edge to edge quilting design ( backing was bright orange batik) that was a quarter moon, smiling, and loops and starts....(a cowboy theme on the panels)...and she was very pleased with how it turned out............since quilting was dense.......it washed and dried beautifully......just goes to show you that you can re-use many things if you cannot find new fabric yardage...

I just finished a Chevron Toddler quilt(40x48in.) using a free pattern from LiMa Sews. Google: Chevron Toddler quilt free (The same quilt shows up with Craftsy.) You will need to scroll down to LiMa Sews. Ironically i had imagined how this pattern could be used for a CB quilt posing as his shirt. Good Luck!

The fabric line is from Quilting Treasures, if you look on their web site they have several Charlie Brown themed projects that you can download for free. (just scroll down the page) For that matter most of the fabric manufacturers have free patterns.

Here is my Snoopy quilt. I have made two of them. They are "sew and flip" blocks and then "quilt as you go." The fabric came from a scrub that I found at a garage sale. One scrub yielded enough fabric fussy cut for the two quilts. Sew and flip works good for me when the pattern in the fabric is so scattered.
My brother used to draw Snoopy as a kid, so it was appropriate as a gift for his first grandchild. Enjoy making your Charlie Brown quilt!
