Wow the cabinet looks better than the machine but the machine can be made to work and shuttles can be found.

thanks for looking, still thinking about which would be better for me. I guess emotions play a big role.
Some one got a nice red eye singer, not me.I have control to my sour grapes and move to the next step.
Family you have to love them. I will study on how to fix it.

It would be so nice if they had a, how to show, for sewing machines and fixing them. Their so many talented people here on this site. Public stations are great for this. I love create TV, sewing, quilting, wood working, house repairs, cooking, etc.
    cable channel here is 148.

Sheridan, that machine's finish will clean up just fine and it looks like the shuttle is there. You need a slide plate. I have rigged a piece of plastic over the whole bottom of the machine before - it is neat to be able to watch as it sews. Look for Glenn's how to fix up the finish on the old machines and try it - I think it is in the sticky notes. That machine has a nice heavy fly wheel and will treadle like nobody's business. Then look up Muv's info on the old long bobbin machines. She has tons and tons of videos that will walk you right through making that machine sew like a champ.
