There I said it!

I have left my iron on also and it scared me when I realized I did not have sense enough to remember to turn it off. I put a light on my cutting table and plugged both the light and the iron in an electrical strip. I know if that light is on, so is the iron. I have had no issues since I started doing this.

Came home from work yesterday and I heard a ticking sound. Followed the sound and found I had left my iron on from the morning! Fortunately, I had left it standing up on my granite kitchen counter instead of on the board. I NEED to get an iron that has an auto shutt off!

I agree, with kids and animals running around the house it takes only seconds for an unattended iron to get knocked over. The auto shutoff might be a pain but it has several homes and lives from fires I'm sure
