GREAT BAGS! We used to throw selvages away....now we make great gifts...bags, pot holders, I wonder if we could to rag rugs.....or maybe the no stretch or give in the selvages would not work on some things.....oh well, guess we need to test our ideas. Happy holidays!

Thanks everyone and I hop my daughter and granddaughter and Mother like them. I put pockets inside on them and on top side of the pockets I sewed another piece of different fabric than the lining so you know exactly were the pocket is. My Mother is 103 yrs old and her eyes are not good. The rest of her is pretty good for her age. I hope I can be that good if I live that long. She lives in assistant living However as long as she is with us I bring her to my house for holidays.

nwm50..I think 12-15" would be long enough to make sewingsuz's bags. This is the tutorial I have used for my selvage chickens. One only needs the length of the square so makes use of the short pieces. My chicks started with 3.5" and 4.5" squares. Both sizes work well.
Selvage or Funky Chicken Pincushion
I'm hoping to make this pattern someday, using a depression green for the solid fabric.
