Everything. I have appliqued a top that I had made for my granddaughter when she was 2 years old. I never finished it. Now she is 13 years old. She still likes the pattern. So, I finished the top. I never finished it because I did not know what to do next. Now I need to add the batting, back ,and quilt it. Then I need to add a border. I have a new sewing machine. It is a Jamome, Quilter's Companion Marie Osmond. I have not sewn for many years. My grandma taught me how to sew. Thanks, Sherry

Send pictures! Did you want to hand quilt it or machine quilt?

I want to machine quilt this one. I also want to make baby quilts to donate. So I would like to learn both. Thanks, Sherry

Border that I added is white with small blue dots and blue trim on top and bottom

"Hi"

My name is Lois and I live in Eastern North Carolina. I enjoy paper piecing very much and would love to have some of your simple patterns.

I will be glad to send postage if you are willing to share.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Hugs, Lois

This is a terrific thread! I need to be adopted; I have made a few quilts, either embroidered or appliqued squares which I sash together. I don't know what FM or FMQ is, and the idea of paper piecing is terrifying. LOL

P.S. I see my avatar showed up. This is my first twin-size quilt, a dinosaur theme made almost two years ago for my then 3-yr-old grandson.

Do you want the shapes? I will be glad to measure and draw a pattern. Please tell me about paper piecing. What does this mean? What do you use? These were fabric pieces I had saved for a long time. I cut the shapes and then added wide rick rack. I had difficulty adding the border strips where there is a right angle to connect.

Og gosh, you must be overwhelmed by now. I need a Mama, and can't even find the page where I asked for one, so am having a hard time seeing if I'm adopted. :-)

This is lovely! Your granddaughter must be so excited!

Ladies - whats your opinion on the quilting? If I were doing it, I would probably FM it but that is kind of hard for a beginner. Echo quilting is another option or maybe just hand tie it in 2"square increments? What do you think?
