A change of plans for me. Janice4 asked for quilt tops for Balboa Naval hospital for babies and children. Since I will be along Mothers Day I plan on not spending it in bed but I will make quilt tops and make some sick child's mom happy when they get the top I made with love.......

We do not have children, but my nephew & his wife have two beautiful adpoted daughters. Tonight we drove over (about 1 hr. each way) to have dinner with them. They always make sure we are included in any celebrations. Love those girls! Olivia

Clem- that is a beautiful story. I don't think it is strange at all to think of your loved ones when their flowers bloom. Every house I've lived in I have planted irises from my mother's house. You have a beautiful heart! Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm taking dinner to my mom and dad's house. They are in their 80's. My DD is coming with the new baby. If all goes well I hope we can all go to the nursing home to see grandma. She'll be 105 on May 30th and still goes with a walker. I'd love to have a picture of 5 generations.

I don't usually do much for Mother's day, lost both my parents by age 18 and don't have a MIL. My boys are the best, they don't wait for one day a year to show me that they love me, they do special things all year long for me. I wouldn't trade that for one day of flowers, cards and dinner out. However this gives me a chance to say to all here on the board Happy Mother's Day to all!!!

There are 2 things that I would like for Mother's Day.

1. We have been trying to finish a room in our Carriage House. It just needs the drywall wet wiped, painted and carpet laid.
2. I really could use help getting my house clean. It has gotten a head of me and needs a good Spring Cleaning and it is a daunting task to face alone.

I know I will get neither. I have been asking for years/months about CH room.
The one place I failed with my kids...was in helping me. I wanted to raise independent kids...well they are.
