My sewing room is soft peach...even the sliding closet doors are the same pale peach. We have soft peach/dusty rose throughout the house. I like it ...very restful. I have 2 windows, one faces west, the other north. I have mini blinds on them, and in the late afternoon I have to close the west facing (where I face sitting at my machine), or I am blinded.

My sewing room is in the basement--well 1/2 anyway. I have cream berber carpet and the walls are white. They are only 2 small windows about 12 x 24 inches and they are at ground level on one side. My walls are covered with white bookshelves and either sewing/quilting signs, my special Elvis pictures, dolls, bears, and mini quilts. It is my sanctuary. I have TV, cable, vcr and dvd plus a record player/cd combo. It is the coolest place in the summer but can get a little chilly in the winter, so I have an oil filled space heater. I just wish I could spend more time down there.

lol my room is basement cinderblock with whitewash! One day I hope to have a room for sewing! But I do have plenty of room there and two tables to spread out on.

My room is two steps down from the kitchen, so that I can nip in and out when I am supposed to be cooking. It is painted a beautiful light mint green with white trim and has a large window at front and sliding glass doors on two walls opening to the garden, laminated wood flooring, two chintz armchairs, TV/DVD, air conditioner for really hot days but beautifully sunny and warm in winter. When I close up the sewing cabinet and tidy up it becomes a little refuge for the two of us for reading, watching TV, coffee drinking - very cosy. It is the favourite room for both of us.

White walls. It had a really strong blue-purple when we moved in, and I really liked the color, but I realized it would interfere with my designing. I don't want any "extraneous" colors influencing me when I'm working on a quilt, plus the colors of the walls change the color of the light, which also affects how you see the color of the fabric you're working with.

I also have hardwood floors, with a small rug under my sewing table for my feet, and to collect thread and tiny fabric scraps :-D

Wow The Quilted Dove, I love your wall racks, is that fabric backing or batting? What a neat idea, I wish I had a basement or separate room to use for quilting, but we don't have basements our here.

I have light purple walls with mauve carpeting and love it since it's my favorite color and so inviting to me.
