Yes, earthwalker we love our country and what it stands for. Thank you for recognizing that. OUr blood sometimes runs red, white, and blue. And this is truly a lovely quilt. I love the use of the beiges and browns with the RW&B. Can't wait to see it all done. Those borders sound great.

How did this quilt finish up? I wanted to bump it up to the top, since it is such a fine, inspirational piece. <wave>

Hi Omak, Sadly the border is still being worked on (80% done). LOL! Long story short....I work with a company in Northwest Florida that's dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf, and our hands have been full dealing with BP. My job has been so busy that I've not had much time to devote to the borders. But, since it is Independence Day weekend, I'm going to work on it some more, and will hopefully get it quilted soon. Thanks for asking about it.

Great looking quilt!!! Love the different sizes of the blocks - makes it so interesting! Wonderful job! Don't forget to post when done.

Thank you for helping us out with the oil spill. I pray that relief comes soon. Once that stuff gets into our marshes, I'm afraid it's there to stay. I hope you can find the time to relax and work on your borders.

Thank you! The instructions have you keep some parts of some of the stars "separate" so that you can actually sew 'blocks' or 'rows' together. I don't know if that makes any sense. There are rows in there, but imagine where the line of one row seems to line up with the seam of part of a star block. That part of the star block was 'kept separate' and attached to another row. When I was ready to put the rows together, that is when the star-block became a 'whole star.' I know this sounds confusing and it's better when you see the instructions, itself.
That actually made sense :)
