Pat your group of blocks are beautiful! Love your fabric choices. What an accomplishment! I have much catching up to do! Hugs
I didn't find it too bad Sheree - I am a great one for hand sewing in the evenings in front of the TV, so that's what I did. You can see my pics of the first stages here:
    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-28063-214.htm
I began quilting the blocks when I had done most of the applique ones done, and on a good evening, I was getting 5 or 6 done, so it went quite quickly. What I found strange is that with our schedule as it has been done, I was nearly at the end before I could get one row stitched together. It didn't seem to matter whether the rows were horizontal or vertical, there was always the odd block that still needed to be done.

I waited, or made the extra blocks to get my rows done vertically, as I prefer vertical sashing to join things together. It's a small thing, and I don't think it made a whole lot of difference in the end, because I used cornerstones. It's just that's the way I have always done it when I am not using cornerstones.
You have totally inspired me to start again! Thank you & Hugs
Good for you Sheree - it is a big project, no denying that, but still doable - it just takes perseverance. Some are not quite manageing to stick to the schedule, but that isn't the end of the world, as long as they are still going forward, then they will get there.

Yea Sheree!!! I'm so glad you are gonna get back to plugging along! I soooo love your blocks and I totally stole your idea of using more than just the 2 colors per block.

Eimay, there are times for others, and times for yourself. Treat yourself to a bit more time for you!
I just might do that; thanks.

I agree. There are so many situations when either the family surrounding the lady of the house puts too much on her and doesn't recognise that she needs time for herself, or the lady of the house doesn't recognise that she needs it, throwing herself into looking after everybody else, burying herself in the process.

Please don't allow that to happen! If we have a bit of time for us, then the family appreciates us much more, and hopefully recognises that we are a person who has needs too.

J2, narrow strips, but PPing takes care of this.
L4, another one with narrow strips, but as above, should be OK.

These are the first set I have shown you where they are quilted. All the rest will be like that now.

As I said recently, get this week done, and you will officially be over half way with your blocks. Congratulations!
So you are quilting each block as you go?

I am quilting it in sections after I get the sections made. I figure 3 sections will work without having too much bulk to haul around.
