My very favorite for piecing is the Juki. I used to use it on my frame (I had a tabletop frame in my old room) but since I got my Bailey I use the Juki for piecing. My Viking is used for anything that doesn't use a straight stitch. I do a lot of garment sewing and making purses so I find I use it a lot for that. My olld Brother only gets used when a friend comes to sew. Another Viking sitting there is another friend's and she comes to my room to sew since she doesn't have a permanent place at her house - plus we know it is so much more fun to sew together!

I am a basket - box- container freak....I have never met one I didn't like so I keep stuff in them. I am showing you more pics so you can see storage. Notice I am NOT neat when things are behind doors!!!

I made the hanging shelf for my books and Grandma's button box. The other shelf holds books for the college classes I teach. I have a desk next to this as my office desk. I used a cool old tote that had the handle broken off as a place to store my batting.

This shows the door table better. Notice the cool little cabinet my DS gave me one Christmas. I use it for my embroidery thread.

These are those collapsible bins I use for fabric and batting scraps. They share the space with my dog's bed! I made the thread racks from some pegboard and small dowel rods.

These are the armoires we got at a neat used furniture store that sells stuff from old military bases, offices and motels. We got 2 of those. My plastic drawers fit on one side perfectly. They hold more fabric, sorted by colors. I also have a wonderful old armoire that is set up the same way.

I am not jealous, but sure do love your room. The floors are wonderful for easy cleaning. Looks like sewing machine central. So happy you have your special areas. We are drooling across the country. Thank goodness I just got to the last photo and see some counters that are not totally clear. I was beginning to feel really bad about mine. Great closed storage units-sure helps keep the room more pleasant to work.

LOL! It was neat before I started sewing in there. Once I begin, forget the neatness!

Thanks for the extra photo's of your special room ... some great ideas for storage ... I like containers too! I usually use them UFO's though ... I just got a folding hamper for my selvage stash but I also like your great idea to use them for batting and fabric scraps! Keep the ideas coming!
