I hope not also, but despite science's best guesses, they don't always hit the target when trying to predict what strains of flu will come around each year. Also, with too many peoples' indiscriminate use of antibiotics, there are many resistant strains of "bugs" out there now. If you are not better by tomorrow with over the counter remedies, it's time to seek professional advice. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

This is an actual remedy from a doctor in my hometown that was given to a friend of mine, who passed it on to me...

1 cup(12oz.)honey
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup wine (ANY KIND)
1 cup whiskey(any kind)
1 tsp. red pepper

Put all of the ingredients together in a quart sized canning jar, shake well, and the pour some into an old cough syrup bottle to use when needed.Shake before each use.
It is nasty tasting stuff ,but it will stop a cold dead in it's tracks.

My sons hated having Vicks rubbed on their chests, said it was too cold and tingled. I would put a big blob of Vicks inside of a bandana, fold it up and wrap it around their necks cowboy style. The bandana stayed over their pj's and didn't make their chests feel cold and tingly. Sure made them breathe easier when they had colds. May in Jersey

netty pot. Walgreen's has them.
Some guy on tv sticks his face in a bowl with watered down peroxide. He opens and shuts his eyes and blows bubbles. Did you see it?

Make a Hot Toddy with tea, whiskey, honey and lemon. Then bundle up under your favorite quilt with a good book and sweat it out.

Also get yourself some Echinacea to build your immunity.

Here's what I would do... get a cool mist vaporizer (will help with the congestion and breathing), alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours.. drink plenty of liquids, preferably water and rest.. if you feel like eating at all, have some chicken noodle soup.. homemade preferably, but if that's not an option (most times not when you're feeling like shit), then lipton chicken noodle soup.
I hope you start to feel better soon.

The nurse at the doctor's office told me, at the first sign of a sore throat, gargle with cider vinegar a couple times a day (and if you can swallow a little). It burns a little, but she said it will even kill strep. You just need to catch it early. However, it would help get the bug out of your system now that it has settled in. The vicks on the feet helps also.

I agree, it does sound like you need to see a doctor.

Forget home remedies if you are miserable. Go buy some Mucinex and get to feeling better fast.
