I have been making tote bags since Vera Bradley showed her first one. Wonder who now, actually does her work. Truthfully I'm not all that fond of her designs. Many are much to modern for me, but who am I?

I tend to agree with you, but I find that the fabrics she uses are all the rage. I didn't even know who Vera Bradley was until I prototyped a small item I was trying to develop and used some left over why-did-I-ever-buy-THAT! fabric. The ladies went nuts for it; everybody wanted it. That's when I took my first look at Vera Bradley. Interesting.

I think it's cute and that she'll really like it. You can always make her another anyway - it's always nice to have different purses to suit our moods, right?! :)

Younger girls like 'bling'. It is an 'original'.
I like it though, & I am much older.

Do you have a scrap of the fabric left? I would leave a scrap of that and something else out the next time she comes over and tell her you are looking for a print for a table runner or something and ask her what she thinks of the fabrics. Just tell her you aren't quite sure what you think about them. Good Luck! Cute purse by the way. :)

I Love the fabric. Love it! I always surprise myself in that there are fabrics I would Never choose for a project, then I see the completed project and love the fabric. Anyway - I like this Style of purse, but the fabric makes it work for me. It is absolutely unique and would work with everything. Now I'll be keeping my eye out for it wherever I go. lol...

I agree that men probably wouldn't have a clue but like the idea of making another and letting your future DIL choose the one she likes best. If she picks this original one you can look at him with that look that says .. what do you know?

Yes, maybe give it to her for her birthday then follow it up with a different one at Christmas, if you want it to be a surprise, no use giving her a choice.

not much help am I?

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA
