    yes we had a big coke bottle, put starch in the final rinse, hang to dry then sprinkle with water and refrigerate. what a recipe!

    I've got one of those. I use to use them all the time. If you didn't get around to ironing the first day, just freeze until needed. Just to sure to thaw before unrolling your garment or it might rip

    Yes, it brings back memories and makes me miss mom and grandma even more. It's the everday things that are precious. I have her ruby and diamond ring and don't wear it much but, the old Bakelite sugar bowl is used every single day for my coffee and just the sound of the lid going into the bowl is enough. We had that sugar bowl FOREVER, never had a different one as long as I can remember.

    Oh, yeah......I used them, too!!! on a pop bottle -- a GLASS pop bottle!!! My --I'm feeling so old...........

    Yes yes yes! I used one just like that for many years. Also did the refrig. trick. Back in those good old days, everything got ironed except my underwear! I thought I was on easy street when I got my first steam iron. Now I don't iron anything (unless sewing) . If it has to be ironed, I don't buy it!
