The very first quilt I ever attempted came from a kit that had minky in it. What a disaster, especially for a new quilter. I did manage to finish the top but have never quilted it. It was for my new DGD but I felt the work was too sorry to give to her! Because of the stretchiness of the minky, the blocks would not line up.

I have learned so much since then but I'm still not sure I will ever attempt minky again!

You are so ambitious to tackle that much cutting of Minkee. I recently did a strip quilt from minkee and HATED the process....Luv the results, just hate the messy process. Looking good so far, good luck!

Beautiful colors. That Minkee is one slippery, stretchy, messy stuff, but it feels so good.

I have never used minkee but have a greatgrand on the way. But if this stuff has so much lint..............would it continue to put lint on the baby?

What a pretty quilt, DA Mayer! I think it is so nice for a baby to have a quilt with a variety textures- that is what his/her first sensations are going to be.

What a snuggy quilt for the new one! I've only used minkee as a backing on some I Spy's. Brave soul for piecing with it! G
