[DEAR] JANE STICKLE CYBER BLOCK PARTY - Jan 2010 thru May/Jun 2011

Elle, we aren't going to start anything, yet, officially. Some over-achievers - whom will all remain anonomous - are just talking about getting started. We won't actually be starting to work on AOTH until June 5 - officially!!! We all need this time to get closer to the goal of finishing up our Baby Janes.
I have just been trying out the method I thought might work for transfering the design onto the background fabric. It's dark by the time I get home from work, so using my "light box" won't work. Sometimes I revert back to my old school ways. This is one of them.
I pinned the background block to the back side of the printed pattern. I had determined the center of the block by creasing the fabric both ways. I stuck a pin into the center of the fabric, then into the center of the pattern. I lined up the block so that it was square to the pattern & pinned on 2 opposite sides of the pattern/block. Then I slipped a piece of white dressmaker's tracing paper, with the waxy stuff against the fabric, in between the pattern & fabric. I used a knitting needle as a stylus to trace the lines of the design. You don't need to trace all of them as most of them will be covered up by pieces layered on top of them. Just need to set out the lines for the bottom pieces placement.
Last night I traced the first block's pieces onto fusible. That's as far as I got. I didn't want to be tempted to go any further. JJ still needs to be quilted! Oh, but those batiks are calling my name!

Thanks Kathy, glad to know its still June start date. You know I pulled the book out to look at the designs again and find that they are not doing a lot for me. I love the quilt when its all put together, but the actually blocks are not doing it for me for some reason I liked it when I first saw it but have gradually gone off it.
Now, with everyones ok for me to do this, can I do another quilt and work along with you all. This way I will get something I really want.

Hmmm.....all you over achievers....I say that you will have Jane come back to haunt you if you don't finish her first...Lesley of course gets a free ride on that one because she IS finished! LOL!
Kathy, thats a good way to transfer the pattern...I still have to find the book...so ya'll know I CAN'T start!
Yesterday I got rows A-C sewn together. :D:
