Does anyone out there have a Kenmore Sewing machine, Model 385 19606? I just got one for Christmas from a family friend that has been used less than 30 minutes and it is much more advanced than the simple one I own. My simple brain "does not compute" while trying to thread it from looking at the picture. Would appreciate any suggestions or help!!

    Thanks,
    Pattie

pretty hard to 'talk' you through threading the machine with out 'visuals'...in the manual there should be a phone number for tech support/customer service. when i had problems with my big machine i called the company and they were wonderful at talking me through my problems. and taught me how to thread the machine and adjust the tension perfectly. most of the machine companies have very good customer service departments and are very friendly and helpful

I do have a Kenmore that starts with 385 - I don't know the exact model as I'm upstairs at the moment, but it's not very complicated. You might be interested to know that all the Kenmores that start their model numbers with 385 are rebadged Janome machines - mine has been a true workhorse and although I have a couple other machines now, that one holds the fondest memories!
