I am curious, do you quilt yr own or send it out? Why

I figure if you spend, say, a base price of $4000 (excluding extras and shipping) for a LA machine; and paid approx. $200 (more or less) per quilt to be LAed, you could have 20 quilts LA for the cost of the machine.
I hope that makes sense...
At my age, I'll probably never be able to make that many quilts!!! LOL

I have completed 131 quilts, only sent one out and wish I had not done that even though the LA did a really good job. Have made many very large quilts and it takes some pushing and patience but I still want to complete my own. I am a spray baster though, don't think I would quilt my own if I had to pin.

I do my own quilting. I have had three done by long arm quilters. The last one was not a good experience and I had wanted it to be special! My quilting is very simple, but most of what I do are charity quilts and I do enjoy the quilting process.

I love to piece and create! I do hand quilting also. But I do not have any "guilt" problems have sent them out to be finished. It's like having a second set of hands. When you make 20 or so quilts a year, I love the option of sending them out!
