I don't hand quilt much, but when I did I used a big hoop. Now I machine quilt. Hope you find the hand quilters in this group!

Hi from Pecos, Tx. Glad to have you here welcome. I can't help you with your question, as I don't hand quilt. But there are plenty on this board that do hand quilt and be a big help to you. Everyone on this board is always willing to help,

Welcome Lannie. I bought a quilt frame made of PVC pipes that I just love, although I do not hand quilt, so I am not sure what would work better for that. I use it for tieing quilts. The only thing I did hand quilt, I used a large 24" quilt hoop,(no stand) and leaned it against the back of a dining room chair to work on it.
