I use Pinmoors and they work great. I used them to baste a king size quilt, bundled it up and hauled it to two sew days and not one pin fell out. I found they work best with good sharp thin glass head pins and make sure the pin is halfway in.

I gave away my basting gun. Hated it!!! Most useless contraption IMHO and kept jamming.

I know a lot of the spray basters like 505 but I use June Tailor that I can get at Joann's with a coupon. They sell it at Wal-Mart, also (no coupon). I have no complaints with the June Tailor brand.

Love Love Love basting spray! Most of the quilts I make are big and have to be laid out on the floor, so I have to crawl around on the floor to baste them. Spray makes it go so much faster. I still hate putting quilts together-it's the only part I hate- but spray makes it tolerable. I use Sullivan's. (in a pink can)

Try the craft stores or hardware for spray adhesive that they state is suitable for cloth - that's where I get mine, and it is $5 - not $30 as it is in the Quilt stores.

There is a tut by SharonSchamber on basting, it's very informative and helpful.

I'm with you on these basting guns. Have had two (one was a gift.) Hated both. Have no idea where they are now.

I really like the Pinmoors. I used them to baste my first quilt. The only problem I ran across was in removing them, I removed a few pin heads along the way (cheap yellow quilting pins) so had to adjust my method of removing them.

    Cheers, K
