I used the legs below the knees (which were worn out) from one pair of jeans, I think. Cut them open along one seam so that I had two large rectangles, folded up the bottom hem to make pockets, and sewed the two halves together, leaving a hole in the middle so that it would go over the gas cap.
How easy was that! Guess what I'm going to do with those jeans Seth brought me? Thanks BFBlue

Here are two of the denim quilts I have made. The Amity Warriors is 6.5 inch squares with fleece on the back. The rag quilt is made from old jeans and old flannel shirts and flannel sheets. Again 6.5 inch squares, but the seam is 1 inch. They were raffled for my DD's dance team and made over $300.

Great photos from all! This was the first quilt I made for my son. He needed something that would hold up to many hockey road trips on the bus.

While I use denim all the time for repurposed items, I was wondering, what is YOUR favorite thing to use old jeans, jumpers and skirts to make?

I love shopping bags! and rugs!
Have you done your class yet? Are you doing a class at your district meeting, or at the state meeting? I'd love to hear how it went.

I overdye denim with fiber-reactive dyes and make all sorts of things. Kindle covers are my latest experiment, but I do like to make purses too.

I've made a couple hundred shopping bags and still have a 100 or so cut ready to sew. I use denim, and any heavy fabric pants or skirts I can get my hands on.
