Sharon...my DH says that I DO have an icemaker...I keep telling him that the water part is broken though...He empties the trays then throws them on the counter for ME to fill up.

Kathy..nope, no room for a D/W. I have cabinets on 2 sides and can't do without any of those, then the backdoor on the other and then its all open to the kitchen table. Someday I'll have one again.

I'm going to look locally for the Norweigan formula to see if I can find it.

I have to tell ya'll that I ordered some of the Bottom Line thread when I ordered my Razzle Dazzle the other day. Last night I was trying it for the applique....I LOVE IT!!! I only got 2 spools...a light grey and a darker grey to use to when I don't have the right color of my Mettler's...this suff TOTALLY disappears when you stitch the applique down. It is a 60 wt. polyester designed by Libby Lehman by Superior Threads....I hightly recommend it for ya'll who are hand appliquing.!!

Where do you find this razzle dazzle and did you do hand embroidery or couching?

Carsey: yes you try to match the thread to the colour of the applique fabric (not the background); sometimes it isn't possible to do that so that is why you use a neutral such as the Bottom Line.

Sandpat: I forgot I have some of that thread. I will have to try it...see this group has helped me already and it isn't June, yet. :)

Firequilt, just to add, Patti found that when she was hand sewing she had to use short lengths as it frayed a bit otherwise. But couching works well.

Is anyone here NOT doing their ATOH in batiks? Just wondering as I am scanning my scrap bin.

The other thing I'm wondering: How many are enlarging the pattern? I know Lesley did. Wonder what the most percentage increase the pattern could handle.

I put a list of percentages here on page 57 Martina - it only goes up to 12 inches though.

Some are working at the 7in original size, Kathy is one, as she only wanted a wall hanging. I don't remember anyone saying anything other than 7in or 10in (finished size), but I might have missed a posting somewhere.

Although most of my blocks have batiks in them, I have added in extra 'ordinary' quilting cotton if I wanted another colour and had it in my stash, so I am not being precious about it. We always said right from the beginning that it would look really nice as a scrappy quilt, it would lend itself easily to that. After all, Aie used dozens and dozens of fabrics in hers.

I enlarged 141% to 10 inches I think. I had some 11x17 inch paper and it fit nicely.

My design has 7" blocks in the center (on point) and then 10" blocks on the outside rows. So..that will be interesting.

I am matching my thread to the applique piece...and I found the best price on Razzle Dazzle at softexpressions.com. I even wanted to add to the order..sent and email and in just a few minutes, they called and viola' it was all taken care of..I got the package in 3 days too..from CA to TN..so I'll buy from them again.

Mad..I'm not using all batiks, but a pretty good mix. I think that several of the blocks have parts that really call out for a pattern of some type.- JMHO..
