    Yes, lol, all the big stitch is by hand. It was my first hand quilting project and I totally underestimated the time. There is 106 hours of quilting in it.

    Okay as I said, I drafted this from a picture, so for starters I made an 8.5 unfinished star block (ohio star I think is the name) and then just added 2.5 unfinished strips log cabin style to two sides only.

    You will need half the blocks to be upper right hand stars with a red white red combination. The other half will be a bottom left star with a white red white combo.

    That is really nice. What kind of thread is used for Big Stitch quilting?

    I just used a cotton #10 crochet thread. Some have said they use pearl cotton, although I must admit I have no idea what pearl cotton thread is, LOL!

    Man oh man - that is a sensational quilt! I can see why it brought in over $1000 for the school. I would be proud to hang it in my house!
