I should have probably told you, long before I got into quilting I was into woodworking. I do have a full shop in the basement. However the table was made with some very basic tools, drill, jig saw, I used a table saw, but a circular saw or miter box would also work and a router is helpful to round over the sharp edges on the table top.

Maybe theses don't belong in this forum, but below are some of the items I have built. These were a little tougher and do require more tools.

WOW, if I had room I'd order one of each! But Quilting has to be faster work, eh?

You did a great job! I may just have to copy your idea. Sewing tables are very pricey.

Nice woodworking! Your table is even cheaper than mine. DH took a pine kitchen table for $89 & cut the hole in it, then installed a shelf underneath. Same principle as yours, just using a pre-made table.

Sure does make a nice sewing surface.

May be a dumb question but what is MDF? Your work is beautiful. You're very talented.

What beautiful furniture. I have always wished I could have taken wood shop...no girls in my day. I have some of the older cabinets that the machines screwed into. Have wanted to do this to them for quite some time. Thanks for the view into how to go about it!

excellent, it's amazing how much easier and more enjoyable quilting is when the machine is level with a larger surface.
