Have the MC 11000 SE, the 7700 and a Gem Platinum--LOVE them all, and they are so dependable. Also recently got a Brother SE400 and I have to admit that I am quite impressed with my 'little Brother'.

Love Janome. Have an Excel 23X which I've had for 20 years and it gets lugged all over the place, and I also have my fabulous 6500 which I've had now for 10 years. Both have an annual service and have never skipped a beat. Wouldn't change brands now.

For the last 39 years I've owned nothing but Janome and although I've since sold the earlier three, currently there are 6 x Janomes set up in my sewing room with one exception being a Brother PQ1500S on a quilting frame.

Just recently I've got hooked on vintage machines and in only 4-5 wks have accumulated 4 of those to sit beside a handcrank I've had for around 15yrs. One of the recents is now going to my 9yo DGD who stood and admired one little beauty last weekend. She doesn't know it yet but I plan the surprise when I visit in another week or two as I'm just getting together a collection of feet and other accessories. Another of the recent acquisitions will be converted to a felting machine,

Out of my 6 current Janomes only one was bought from a dealer, their customer service left a lot to be desired and by that time I had so much faith in the Janome product that I bought the others on eBay (sight unseen) and haven't been disappointed.

When you have an embroidery machine(s) another machine is not a luxury because you can sew or quilt, while the embroidery machine is doing it's thing...just make sure you have a wheelie chair!!

I have an 11000 and a 3160QDC. I wouldn't trade. Janome is the best.

I own the Janome Gem Platinum and LOVE it. I have used it exclusively for the last several years (we travel in a motor home where weight is a big issue) and it works great!

I have a 4800: wonderful for piecing, less so for FMQ because it's impossible to get the tension right - there are always loops on the back. I feel I was let down by my dealer and Janome, because I've been back to both several times over this problem and was always told it must be my lack of skill. Now the dealer admits that this machine isn't great for quilting, and Janome have brought out a separate bobbin case. Hmm. My confidence and pleasure in my quilting were all but destroyed by this saga. I've now tried other machines and my FMQ is fine. All that said, I'm now looking for a new machine to do FMQ, and having started off saying "anything but a Janome" I'm now wondering about a 6600, as of all the machines I've looked at, it seems to have by far the most favourable comments and fewest adverse ones.
