Back in the 80's, I worked for a photovoltaics company that was partly bought out by one of the big oil companies, that was considered to be one of the best companies to work for at the time - yeah, right. The other oil companies bought out the remaining top PV companies. Having seen first hand how they lied to their own employees, I wouldn't believe a single word any of the big oil companies said about anything.

we're all in this together! Hopefully we have enough stash to keep us going for a bit. We live out in the country and with gas prices, we, like many of you, plan every trip, including church! With not being able to afford to go anywhere, I should get plenty of quilt tops done and have the most beautiful yard (if the rain ever stops.)

Gas stations have an odd way of doing things. The gas that is in the underground tanks needs to generate enough money for the station owner to pay for the next load of fuel. As the owner sees the price of the next load going up, he needs to raise the current price at the pump so he can pay the new higher price.
That is interesting- I never knew that. Thanks for the info. I never thought the guy who owns the station was the bad guy; I always heard that they do not make very much money on gasoline, only on other little purchases like food and sodas.

Go to GasBuddy.com. Plug in your state, area, or city to see the gas prices from the last 6 years. Around here it was highest in August of 2008 at $4.12, then dropped to lowest in December of 2008 to $1.61. I just paid $3.56 per gallon today. How high is it per liter in European countries?

Also, we love our Prius with great gas mileage. I'm all for electric cars, hybrids and coal gasification. We made gasoline from coal in the 1950's, many countries do it today so maybe we should try again. Then the milti-billionaires couldn't gouge us with their oil!

What is really sad is how the newspaper claimed that gas would be going down - hmmmmm the other day lowest around here was $3.77 a gal, that station is now at $3.83 with others down the road $3.85 and up for reg unleaded
