I'm 63 years old and have only flown 4 times in my life. One was from NY to Ca the others were all less than 2 hours. The last two flights I had to take a valium and have a stiff drink before boarding. I know it's a very safe way of traveling but I'm happier on a train. My grandsons and I went to Disneyland at Christmastime on the train, a twelve hour ride but we had fun.

I guess we can't pick and choose our fears. I have no problem going to the dentist but I know some people that dread it. I also know that many people are terrified of public speaking.

I do feel badly about missing out on this big beautiful world of ours but I won't be flying again.

I used to think flying was the only way to travel - can't think of a thing that would pay me to get on a plane now. Old age??

I've flown several times but only out of necessity. I much prefer riding a motorcycle.

Stop and think about it. You are safer in an airplane than you are in a car. If not, there wouldn't be any airplanes! Stands to reason, eh? Edie

PS - It is a lot of fun, especially flying to Las Vegas, which is 3 hours from us. Iowa is 1/2 hour! I like that, also! You can bring along a crossword puzzle book, or some embroidery. If you are thinking of bringing a scissors, don't. I use a seam ripper as my scissors in the airplane. Works like a charm.

I will tell you all. I don't do any thing with out the Lord.I tell Him when I get on a plane or anything else, Lord you know there is nothing I can do for my self so this situation is in your hands. That goes weather a tornado, hurricane, or flood, and that goes for getting in my car on crawling in my bed. He takes care of me when I can't. I sure hope this does not affend anyone.

I have flown in small planes, large planes, larger planes and helicopters, small and commuter, and the best was flying in a hot air balloon! There are more accidents traveling by car than flying - Don't miss the opportunity. It's really great. However, I won't take a cruise nor will I ride a roller coaster. Go figure!

I love to fly. It is the fastest way to get to see my daughter. It would be a 2000 mile drive, then driving in NYC would be scary! I fly, get a cab at the airport and enjoy the trip!
