I have a funny story about Tom Selleck. When I was working as an RN in the newborn nursery many years ago, every time the phone rang I would say "I'll get it, it might be Tom Selleck for me, he's supposed to get up with me." Well, of course it was a big joke with us and people even got to the point where the phone would ring and say "Penny, you get it. It's probably Tom again." One day the phone rang and someone answered it (I must have been doing something) then put the phone down and looked at me in the oddest way. "Penny", she said,
"It's for you...and it's Tom." She almost lost it, I was hysterical, the other nurses were whooping it up. It was a formula rep calling to talk about his product and his name just happened to be Tom.
