Yikes! I have dropped the ball... not too many days left until we start and I haven't made one decision nor purchased anything. Hmmm...

Well, I seem to recall that DH and I thought seriously about a range of pinks from light to hot pink on a white background. I better get to thinking.. and deciding.

Yup, yup, yup!!!

That's what my good friend Beth is for! :D She went through many of my fabrics and pulled out so many that I did not know would coordinate and I have a wonderful group of fabrics to start with. I did go buy some FQ packs at JoAnn's, but most everything else came from my stash. I would not have looked at the fabrics in my stash and put them all together, so I am very thankful to Beth for doing that!

I am sure Dozer (his dog) will be sleeping in bed with the quilt. I bought Mirage black for my background and I am seriously thinking about another fabric. I got my fabric from Quilt In a Day today and I love it. I have it in the washing machine right now. I may end up at y LQS after all.
OOPS! I realize that I didn't use Mirage I used the solid colors from CT.

As has been said before, there are some of us who decided to JTG (jump the gun) and begin. There is one of us who is nearly finished with her entire top whose name shall not be mentioned here but who lives across the pond to the east.

I had started the quilt but after doing more than 16 blocks, decided to start over. I now have 4 blocks finished with the appliqué, 2 finished with the embroidery, one nearly finished with the embroidery & 1 waiting for the embroidery. I have spent last evening & tonight working on #9's embroidery & am still not finished. Should wind it up tomorrow.
talk about yer overachievers, LOL! j/j...you know I luv ya!

Linda...I do struggle with my little piece selection also. I get into trouble when I find a combo that I really like then I find myself trying to repeat that...don't want to do that. I paw and paw through my stack that I've pulled for this project, lay the pile out, go get DH, make him play, argue that he is of course wrong, pick the pieces, carefully cut them, change my mind, toss the pieces and start over. The sad part is that when we see other's blocks, no matter WHAT you pick, they all look fabulous! LOL
you paw and paw...lol...yes, that kitty is your inner personality. I knew it...but you love meeces, I just know.
Besides, I scrub with soap like all domesticated mousie's and don't taste good like barn rats do!
(or nasty...viva la' preference!) ;)

Why is that Patti??? After all, we can all see the pics of Aie's blocks where almost every petal in a block is a different colour, and they look delicious. Yet when I came to try it, I agonised because I am so programmed for symmetry.

And Kathy, I have just started side four of the wide border, but I haven't put any circles on any of the sides yet, and I think I am going to add heart flowers too.
see? dis is what I'm talking bout! I fell in love with Aie's quilt the first time I saw an ad for her book. Put it in my mental list and kept going.
Then when I found out you guys were doing the quilt and finally gave in to my feelings instead of logic...snicker, no balance there...I cannot for the life of me just throw a bunch of different scraps together.
I'm destined to shed blood, sweat and !oh no! at least there's been no crying so far ;-)
For me, part of it is the cost, pride, and insanity!
who wrote that? I didn't write that word...did u see me write that "i" word? nope, nope, nope...you can't prove a thing!

OK, ladies, just a friendly nudge that our Cyber-Sew officially begins in just 9 days! Even if you aren't ready for whatever reason like haven't gotten your book, can't decide on background fabric or whatever, you can begin by keeping up with all the chat I know will happen. We are a chatty bunch & that's what makes a group so much fun to be a part of.

Even though some members have jumped the gun, no one has finished anything. Several are well on their way to a finished quilt top & a few have some blocks done, but that's not to stop you from starting & working at your own speed.

I have been embroidering a block for 3 nights now. I get home from work, fix something for us to eat & pick up the block. There is always something good on TV to watch, just wish I could stay awake to watch all of it! Maybe I'll finish this block tonight so I can start another block! :-)
