walmart pre cuts

quality is a very subjective thing.
the walmart precuts are not - in my purely personal opinion - among the nicest fabs walmart has to offer if they have fab departments.
however, i have seen worse fabs than their precuts available from other sources.
some folks love the wallyworld precuts.
some hate 'em.
they are all correct. ;-)

You know, it really depends on what kind of a quilt you are making. If you are making a childs quilt or a comfy quilt to be used on the couch etc. then I don't see anything wrong with using bargain fabric. It may not be top of line quality and would not be used for making an heirloom quilt, but I for one could not spend as much time doing what I love if I were forced to buy all of my fabric from quilt shops etc. Don't get me wrong, I love and support my local quilt shop, but I don't buy ALL of my fabric there. I'm glad we have a choice. Also, it would be hard to make and give charity quilts without Wallmart prices.

I have some and thought it was good for utility and kids quilts. It is thick enough but a little too crisp and the colors are OK but not terrific. I have used alot lately due to financial reasons. I think it is a good option for those of us on a tighter budget. I think they will continue the precuts if there is enough demand also they had precuts at our Walmart when they still had fabric on the bolt.
The top is from WM pillow case precut fabric with the exception of the yellow, that is LQS FQ.

Back is WM 2 yard cuts. This whole top is from WM pillow case precut packs.

Back is Walmart 2 yard precuts. All the center blocks are from a WM FQ pack. The brown border is LQS clearance.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the quilts I made.
These are made for my nephews and my DIL. So it is important the quilts are nice and feel nice.
I think if you like the color and pattern you will be fine with it. Just besure to feel the fabric. I find the bolt fabric varies alot in quality but sofar the precuts I have bought have been consistent and they seem to hold up fine. I have just ironed them and then cut. So I did not prewash. I washed after the quilts were done, warm and tumble dry crisp. I like the crinkly look. They also have some fun kids prints or the bottom quilt was nice for my young DIL, 19, as it seemed to have some fabrics and colors the younger ladies like.
For bolt fabrics I have been vary happy with the ones made by David Textiles and often the regular cost is under $3 a yard.
OMG those are so pretty!!! I'm so excited now thanks so much for posting that. Yes it's for a sampler quilt for class but I don't have tons of $ for fabric so this will work great. My hubby is dying seeing me spend so much $ on this :)
