Caroline, where did you purchase your table? I like it and also because you can fold it up and store it.

have table lifters from Keepsake quilters that come so you can put the table up as high as you need it and use a 6ft table from Sams club works soooo good

I cut on a drafting table...I was able to adjust it to a good height for me, and underneath I have a chest of drawers that just happened to perfectly fit, and it holds my quilted clothing patterns as well as patterns for totes/bags.

I had the JoAnns table and it was awful, the ones from a few years ago are much better, but now they are junky. I agree, use the counter or try an old table that is high

I have one like MelodyWB's friend has. 2 leaves fold down when not in use.

I have the table from JoAnn's and it is so wobbly, I took it off from the legs and used the top by placing it on a fold up table and putting something on top of that folding table to bring it up to the height I need. (Like a wooden frame smaller than the table top,)which leaves me enough room to place my ruler there on edge of table. In other words I made the frame smaller than the folding table.

i have many back and neck issues too. There was a thread on here a while back discussing the JoAnn's cutting tables. Mine got so lopsided it was useless even after my hubby put braces on it. Others have had no problems, especially if one side is up gainst a wall. I use two of the folding tables that they sell at BJ's side by side. They are the shorter ones that raise to a higher height. I use one of the regular height longer ones up against a wall under a nice sunny window for sewing and ironing.
