A local quilt shop (Mt. Vernon, Ohio) send area patrons a link to send quilts to Peggy and Skip Ackfeld, Ackfeld Manufacturing, 360 Emerson Road, Reeds Spring, MO 65737. They said we could send quilts and sign them so they know where they are coming from and they are working with the Red Cross in that area. In case you don't know, Ackfeld Manufacturing makes the little quilt hangers for Patchabilities and little quilts. My local quilt group and my mother's group are sending some quilts.

Believe it or not, it could have been worse. You could have been there when it hit

Two of the local quilt shops have organized efforts to make quilts for the Joplin survivors - -Bittersweet Quilts just outside of Joplin and Block by Block Quilts in Carthage. I think there is a 3rd one, but I don't know which one it is.

The Joplin Town and Country Quilt Guild in Joplin provides lots of quilts for the needy, but one of the houses lost in the tornado held all their supplies for making these charity quilts. Gone were rotary cutters, cutting mats, batting, fabric, irons, everything.

If you can help, please ship materials to:

    Gloria Park
    2921 N. Hickory
    Joplin, Missouri 64801

That's just sickening. Hope they get their new building soon.

We were in Joplin this past week end and could not believe the destruction. The news on TV does not show how destructive that tornado was and how it totally destroyed so much. We saw the JoAnns and that is a very good picture. It also destroyed Home Depot but the good thing to see was they had a huge white tent set up behind where the store used to be and had a big "Open for Business" Was so good to see how they are already starting to rebuild.

I think we need a moment of silence for that supplier to our addiction. I am glad to hear that all will be well, and am thrilled you are alright.
