I had used a Black and Decker steam iron for years until it died not long ago. Then I bought a Sunbeam for $29 - didn't like the feel of the more expensive ones, too heavy, too long, etc. The Sunbeam has the feel of my B & D and it works just fine so far.

I have used rowenta irons for years and they are the only iron I will but, they are worth the money,
recently I purchased a iron that was made in Italy, gave 225.00 plus tax.needless to say it is a joke
I purchased a shark and it soon started leaking.

I use a small Steam Fast. It is inexpensive and the perfect size if you have a small iron station near your machine. I use it for all my applique, although I do have a larger iron for large surfaces but it seems I use it less and less.

Once upon a time ago I thought I needed an expensive iron and bought a Rowenta on sale. It did nicely for a couple of years and now I am using an iron I have had for a million years. If it ever quits I will buy whatever is cheapest.
