I have the almost identical box in pastel pink. It was my first sewing box and my father purchased it for me from Sears in the late 50s or early 60s. Came with a clear, divided plastic tray for notions. Congrats on your great find.

Glad for my curiosity. I'm not sure who it belonged to but I found some old probably high school pictures in it so I'm going back over today to return those and I'll find out who it belonged to. There was an old singer in a cabinet for $100 which was well over priced so I know she was a sewer. I say "was" because I over heard a few talking about her in past tense. I also got a new Salad Shooter for $1. Never used one but I'll try it out.

I hope I'll find out who's it was and more about it. There were to many people there yesterday to pull someone aside.
