I have the almost identical box in pastel pink. It was my first sewing box and my father purchased it for me from Sears in the late 50s or early 60s. Came with a clear, divided plastic tray for notions. Congrats on your great find.

I thought of that too when I first seen it. But the plastic shelf has places for bobbins. It was a huge yard sale and it was tucked under a table and I just got curious and pulled it out.
Glad for my curiosity. I'm not sure who it belonged to but I found some old probably high school pictures in it so I'm going back over today to return those and I'll find out who it belonged to. There was an old singer in a cabinet for $100 which was well over priced so I know she was a sewer. I say "was" because I over heard a few talking about her in past tense. I also got a new Salad Shooter for $1. Never used one but I'll try it out.

Thanks for that info. I was curious to how old it might be. When I go over today I'm going to ask some questions about it.
I hope I'll find out who's it was and more about it. There were to many people there yesterday to pull someone aside.

And with it being red you should not lose in the sewing clutter we all seem to have.

Great find. It looks like 1950's to me.

Yeap. Thats how I spotted it yesterday. I don't have much red in my sewing room so if I can't find it I'll know its time to clean up
