That's what I was thinking, that a border that wide would look kind of "odd"...I like your idea...thanks abunch..

Ok I've been sitting here studying my quilt and all of your comments...I think the majority says to use a 2"-3" border of the green and then 5"-6" border of the rust and leave out the cream color that I have in between on the pics...
THANK YOU all so much for your help...I'm always ready to jump from one step to the next on my quilts but find myself not always pleased with the results...so I'm learning to take more time with them and even take pictures and study them for a bit.

Much as I love the colors and complexity of #3, I think there would be too much competition with the quilt. So I vote for #2.

I like the rust on the edge, it gives it a stronger finish. Then bind in a solid rust.
