I made a pin cushion with a bag attached-the cushion is weighted so it sits on the side of the table and does not fall off-when finished, turn the bag inside out and empty-twofold purpose! Love the countertop idea-when I get my sewing room (hopefully soon), I am going to request something similar-GREAT IDEA!!!

I have kept a small box or can by the machine for throwing threads in. In the area we refurbish sewing machines my husband used a eye screw and attached a small garbage can to the side of the desk I sew at just below the desk top. It is really nice- cheap and so easy to do- and just enough out of reach that I don't loose pins, fabric, thread snips etc into it

Would you mind taking a couple pictures of the underneath so we can see how the bag is connected. I just can't quite picture it.Just a scatter brain today.I think he did a fabulous job of making your table top.I love the wavy edge.and it looks so nice.I'm sure your going to really enjoy your sewing room. Call me when it's done so I can come and play too.lol. Mary
