Until a few years ago that is the only way I made quilts. I've made several king size and maybe 8-10 Queen size. My Mom was a friend of Betty Cossey's and she wrote a book and taught me how to quilt this way. Don't know if the book is still in print but certainly made it easy and a good take along project. If you want the name of the book or have any questions please feel free to PM me.

I make as many of my quilts as I can in the QAYG. I like the reversible quilt way - with strips on the front and back.

I am in the process of making one for Christmas and am using blanket inside for batting and really like the concept, as I am practicing quilting by machine on smaller pieces and I find it fun. I had no idea I could do the things that I did with the smaller sandwiches, 12" blocks.

Mine didn't turn out as good as I wanted. I had problem keeping the boarders straigh- I was doing something along the lines of "Fun and Done" where you make the backing a couple inches bigger then the batting and top.

I am in the process of making 2 right now, one for each of my kids. I'm doing 1 square each year and adding it as I go. I'm able to sew the block, quilt it and then add it, so all I'll have to do is add borders when they go off to college. I like being able to make the block and quilt it by itself. That makes it very easy to quilt a more complicated design on each block. My backs, so far, have turned out fine, altho I don't enjoy the hand stitching. I don't think I'd do a whole quilt at one time.

They are the 4th and 5th quilts shown on this web page - http://www.quilt-pictures.com/memory...-pictures.html

Unfortunately no I have made a QAYG although it is on my to do list. I might get around to it one day, there is just so much on the list that it could be awhile before I do so

I have never done a QAYG because I never seen a tutorial that clearly shows the seam connections and I'm concerned about ruining the quilt when it comes to the back seam connections. HELP CRAFTYBEAR I need your assistance with a magic tutorial!!! :?:  :?
