Non-quilters just do not understand.... but my QB friends will!!

To be able to sit outside and work on a quilt listening to nature do her thing has to be one of the greatest joys on this earth. Knowing that your husband is doing what makes him happy and you doing what makes you happy has to be the epitome of a good life. I do this also, only in our backyard. We don't do a whole lot of traveling anymore, but with the flowers, trees, birdbaths and feeders, and a good audiobook or music, and a neat quilt to work on, I can't ask for anything more.
And I do think non-quilters understand. They just don't know how to get there!!!!! We do!
I am so glad you had an enjoyable vacation. Enjoy every one and remember each one. Some day they will become memories instead of realities and reliving is sometimes better than the real mccoy!!!!! Edie

I think its wonderful that you had the chance to do that. We go to the shore in sept and just sit and sew. If we get tired of sewing we can get up and go out. Most of us take a break occasionally to walk to boards. Good for you. Glad you got a chance to relax. I would love to have the chance to fish too. I like doing both of them.

I know exactly how you feel. I am headed to the country Friday for a family reunion but won't get to quilt as my buddy broke her hand.... We will sit on the porch swing and share quilt patterns and stories. I KNOW you had a wonderful relaxing time.

Your vacation sounds divine! I'd be torn between quilting and fishing, though!
I don't remember the last time we had a vacation. My husband was off last week and we thought we'd spend some lazy days at the beach -- but he got called in for overtime almost every day. The one day he turned it down so we could go to the fireworks at the shore, it poured.
