I've also rescued tops and old blocks from tag sales - does that count? Sometimes I finish them, sometimes I pass them on.

I found a beautiful quilt at a thrift store last week. It was in great condition and according to my friend who know a lot more about dating quilts, it is from the 1940's. I've only bought 3 old quilts in the 20 years that I've been quilting. I try to only buy quilts in patterns that I'd never make. One of them was a "Postage Stamp" pattern with 1" pieces. I know I'll never even try that. The one last week is a pattern I've never seen. What a find for less than $100!

Years ago as a new quilter I bought a few old ones and a number of 1930-40 tops which mostly did get finished. Now all my time is devoted to making them myself.

I would like to know what the site is to sell quilts. I don't want to go on Ebay or Graigs list, I live alone in a condo, and wouldn't let just anyone in my apartment. I have a Oriental throw/wall hanging, all embroidered, and Apricot Blush Queen. All embroidered.
    TIA :?

I have purchased several vintage quilts and I display them in my home. I also have 5 quilts that my grandmother made in the 1930s-three of them are on the beds my granddaughters sleep in. I LOVE old quilts.

Never purchased any quilts, however, I did inherit quite a few from my
Grandmothers and Aunts, all hand pieced. I didn't inherit that talent mine, are all machine sewn.

I pick up old quilts at our local antique store and love them but discovered I'm paying more then need be for them so I've cut back. I have heard of folks getting fantastic buys on EBay but I've never bought a finished quilt there.

Nope, but I drooled over an Amish handquilted one once with a price-tag of over $2,000. (I didn't actually drool onto it!)
