Love it!! Have you tried doing a log cabin in the Eleanor Burns technique...you just cut the center 2 squares, then just chain sew onto long strips and cut each section, press, then chain stitch on the next strip/color, etc. It goes really really fast!!

Thanks everyone. The lace detail came about when I wanted to use a different border fabric and I didn't have enough of it. I asked myself what I liked about that fabric and it was the white detail in it so I was trying to figure out how to add some white detail to another border fabric and was mucking around really when the idea of lace came to me as it was easy to achieve. Necessity is the mother of invention they say and I think I believe them.
