For years I wanted to take a balloon ride. Finally, in 1990 my son gave me one as a birthday gift. What a disappointment. Was tremendously cold in the dark helping get the bag blown up. Then we only traveled over bare ground, but did see a few rabbits hopping by. By far the worst thing was the "groupies" hanging around hoping for a freebie ride. Glad I did it and got it out of my system. Perhaps you will all have a more enjoyable experience.

Yes, was a Christmas gift from hubby that I had on my bucket list. Loved it, was so peaceful floating above the city early in the morning. You have to try it you will really love it.

Yes - several times and I love it! If you are afraid, just make sure you choose an experience baloon pilot with an up-to-date license - someone you feel comfortable with and who will explain things to you prior to the ascent.
Enjoy!

Being from the California wine country, balloon flights were a regular birthday treat for my children. Even though the gondola was chuck full, room was made for Mama. The pilots were regular Delta or American airline pilots, who piloted the ballons as a hobby.
Other than running low on fuel and an emergency splash into a unsuspecting coy pond, our 100 plus flights were fun and uneventful. With the burner off you can hear the cows low, birds chirp, and enjoy a spectacular view.
I miss ballon flights, as I now live in the Southern hardwood and pine forests with no place to launch or land a balloon.

I did one in SW Colorado a few years ago. I am a HUGE chicken and hate both flying and heights....had to be talked into doing the hit air balloon but it was so fun and relaxing! We have great pictures that we took from the balloon and OF the balloon. Picture a red, royal blue and bright yellow bargello...it photographed very well. Hope you decide to "stretch" a little and go!
